User web interface for MEFilter
Hi

Here's a simple ASP web interface that I made up for MEFilter, it comes in two parts, one for the Admin and one for the User. Designed for Access database connection on windows server 2003.

This is just a simple user interface that is very easy to set up, it was made and designed to suit my needs however I guess my needs are probably the same as yours, that why I posted it.

This software allows the individual user to:

View email stats for their domain.
Edit their login password
Ad, remove and edit whitelisted emails.
Ad, remove and edit Spam Phrase Holding List.
Ad, remove and edit  Blacklisted emails
Ad, remove and edit  Blacklisted Countries
Ad, remove and edit  Black Listed Phrases

The downside is that if the user has more than one domain they must login to each domain to configure it.
This software is designed for one user login per domain.
I have built in some security features that check the users login details against the url before it shows each page, however this means that you need to set up the users login name as the same as their domain name, the password can be what ever.

The admin part is more or less the same as the user interface except that the admin can view, edit, remove from all domains, I made this so I can keep an eye on the non-technical users and make sure they don't mess things up.

If the above suits your needs then your welcome to this web interface.

Installation instructions are inside the file download, support for this software is very limited as I travel around allot, plus my knowledge of ASP is not great. hopefully if you post any questions some of the other users in the form will help but it is very simple to setup.

Installation

Your MEFilter database must have the table called Passwords

Unzip the SpamAdmin file to a directory on your PC
Take the folder called SpamAdmin and drop it into your website
If your MEFilter is in the default location then that's you done, point your browser to www yourdomain.com/spamadmin/index.asp
If errors occur then check the line in the common.asp file that points to the MEFilter database (instructions for this are in the readme file).
if you still have errors then make sure that your IIS permissions are set to run ASP files on your domain.
Also check that your web folder has full permissions set

Setting up the user interface is done in the exact same way as above, except you would place the folder called Spam into your clients website and point your browser to www clientsdomain.com/spam/index.asp.
You of course need to set-up the logins for your users before they can use it.

As I said before support for this is very limited.

Hope it works for you - enjoy

Re: User web interface for MEFilter
Hi Gerhard

Glad to hear that it works fine you you.

That was what I originally started to build but I was under pressure from my clients to come up with an interface so I scrapped that project and built this stand alone easy to use interface as it was much easier and quicker to build at the time.

You could try and putting email addresses in the UserName instead of domains however I think the security checker will keep kicking you off. At this time I have no plans to change the software but I do intend to finish the MailEnable COM interface in the future, when I do I will post it.

Thanks

Stookie

HI Stookie

This interface works very nice.
One question, can you change the authentication to use the MailEnable COM interface? Then users can login using their normal email and password.
