Setup Instructions

Once you have downloaded the MEFilter installation program you need to run the Setup.exe

When the setup program starts you will be presented with a number of screens that will guide you through the installation process as shown below.

Stage 1: Click "Next" to start the installation.



Stage 2: Click the "I agree...." for the license agreement and then press the "Next" button.



Stage 3: Enter your name and company name and then press the "Next" button.



Stage 4: If you have already got registration details enter them here, if not just ignore then entries for now and then press the "Next" button.



Stage 5: Here you can specify if you want the installation routine to setup default settings.

• MEFilter Settings - Will create the defaults to run a basic installation.
• ODBC DSN - Will create a System DSN for the Access database.
• MailEnable Settings - Will configure the MailEnable MTA process to call MEFilter.

Once you have made your configuration choices press the "Next" button.



Stage 6: Here you can specify where to install MEFilter and then press the "Next" button.



Stage 7: Here you can specify where to place the Windows menu items and then press the "Next" button.



Stage 8: Press the "Next" button to start the actual installation process.



Stage 9: During the installation the system will show a progress window showing the status of the setup.



Stage 10: Once the installation is complete press the "Next" button to close the installation program.


Notes:

1. Once you have run the installation program, it is normally required to restart the MailEnable MTA process so that MEFilter is called during email processing.
2. If the installation routine detects that an existing copy of the MEFilter Access database already exists it will give you the option to backup the database before the new file is installed.
